◆ ◆ Azim's Fury
One drizzly day, as I was strolling along the harbor, I heard a merchant tell one of his workers, 'You've finished your duties, go ahead and call it a day.' I stood motionless among the crowds, asking myself, 'Have I … already finished my duties...?'... there is something I understand better than most: When the door opens, it is time to leave.

Thank you for reading Khagadai's carrd!
⸻ i : Will Do
Moon Code Sharing.
Multi-Paragraph. Though casual interactions can be enjoyable, too.
Dark/Mature Themes.
Combat RP. - preferrably with dice rolls.
Long term/Slow burns.
Permanent Character Injury. - After we talk it through, of course!
Reasonable lore-bending. - Khaga's a giant among Xaela, so I'm the last person who would take issue with lore-bending. As long as your lore bends are written in an interesting way, I'm likely happy to go along with it. Khagadai, however, may not always be amiable.
⸻ ii : Won't Do
Minors. - Both IC and OOC.
IC/OOC blur.
Debating what constitutes "Lore-bending"/"Lore-compliance". - I am, however, very interested in how people wedge their lore-bending into the universe of FFXIV!
WoL Characters. Unless we're already writing partners and it's discussed.
⸻ iii : Combat
Oh boy do I love combat RP, and Khagadai likes to get down in the (proverbial) ring. As stated above, I prefer using dice systems, and am always open to discussion about how to manage rolls. While Khagadai is stupidly large, I promise that does not give him the advantage one might expect. Khagadai has and will get his ass kicked when dice are against him, or his opponents outsmart him
.
Freeform combat is reserved for those who pass the vibe check. I need to know you'll allow your characters to fail when appropriate.
Godmoding is a fast way to end a scene. If I catch it happening, I'll find a way to end the fight, even if it's absurd.
I expect communication if my writing partners want an interaction to go a certain way, and don't mind ignoring dice rolls for the sake of narrative or Rule of Cool.
⸻ iv : ERP
When it comes to ERP, it's never my goal with character interaction. I tend to prefer building chemistry between OCs and writing with someone for a while before doing any sort of ERP, but I am occasionally open to it if it suits the current interaction!
I don't do
low effort ERP.Good luck getting a random hookup, if that's what you're after. Kha tends to be quite dense when it comes to flirting, and rarely has it on the mind when interacting with others.
⸻ v : MISC
"<dialogue>"
is how I denote Khagadai speaking xaelic, occasionally Hingan. I'll try to make it clear within a scene, but sometimes fail to.
Note: Due to current IRL events and the raid tier, my availability for in-game RP is temporarily extremely limited. Discord, however, is perfectly fine!
⸻ v : about the writer
Hey there! I'm Kha/Khag— or Elliott— a He/They, PST-based writer. I've been in roleplay spaces off and on for several years, but have only RPed seriously/consistently in the last couple. While I love Discord RP for the freedom it gives me to write long posts, I much prefer in-game roleplay because I struggle with focus. That said, if we do RP over Discord, which I'll never be opposed to, please don't take a long delay between posts as disinterest! I just struggle with ADHD and distract easily when I owe replies.I raid and otherwise have IRL obligations, so please understand that I'm simply busy at times, just like I expect IRL/other obligations to come first for you. If our schedules clash, I'm happy to exchange Discord information so we can set up scenes or RP there!

A true son of Azim, Khagadai embodies everything he views the Oronir to be— Strong, protective, proud, RADIANT.To those with Aethersense:
Khagadai's aether smells of Juniper, Verbena, and Sunshine, with an undertone of smoke | Tastes like slightly burnt Citrus and herbs
⸻ appearance
Whether by divine gift or genetic mutation, Khagadai is large— even compared to his Olkund cousins, Khagadai is immense in stature and heavily built. At a glance, he often appears like a glorious statue; towering, dressed most commonly in well-tailored garments and light armor, an odd contrast to his huffing and poor manners. One eye is nearly always covered with a black leather patch, but when it's absent, two scars carve twin ravines across his missing eye. A heavy tail sways and skips along the floor, too long even for his tall frame.
☼
Has a very thick Hingan accent, and is quite self-conscious about it.
As he is incredibly large, he struggles with small spaces and buildings, and gets cranky about it.
Always wears
bright eyeshadow

❛❛
“<It would be shameful for a son of the Steppe to die to a worm, that’s all.>” How sad would it be, for the one Dotharl he would ever entertain friendship with to die like a lame horse rather than as a proud warrior?
⸻ personality
To Khagadai, he is the Sun— powerful and radiant, with an ego to match. His emotions come like solar flares, swift and intense, but just as quick to cool, making him seem volatile and overly reactive.Being the very sun itself, Khagadai often boasts of his great deeds (whether or not they're accurate portrayals), and feels it's his divine duty as a son of Azim to protect those weaker than him, particularly those he's close to."<Your enemies are mine now.>"Khagadai is greatly superstitious. The stars know all, even if esoteric in their message, and he will often follow little personal rituals and draw from the Deck of Sixty when faced with uncertainty.
☼
Tends to come across as quite oblivious. He blames his lack of perception on the missing eye, but...
Often (poorly) imitates purrs or gator-like bellows when he's happy, having picked up habits from previous companions, as well as frequently expressing himself with his tail.
Argumentative as sin. If he decides you're wrong, good luck ever getting him to admit otherwise, even when presented with evidence.
Has minor social anxiety, particularly in areas outside of Hingashi and Othard. Caused almost entirely by his accent and size, but also by internal conflicts between Hingan etiquette and his impulsive nature.

⸻ history : The Steppe
[WIP]
Continues to have a great relationship with most of his family.
Has a strained relationship with his father, the right hand of the current khan.
Thinks very little of the khan, and is quick to spit venom about them.
⸻ history : Kugane
[WIP]
Owns a home in Shirogane, gifted to him by Tsubame, his
formeremployer.Employed as a guard for Tsubame Textiles, a renowned producer of cloth goods, including tailored garments.
Well-connected throughout the city via his work with said Tsubame Textiles.
⸻ history : Ishgard
After the Dragonsong War, Ishgard’s gates opening prompted a visit from Tsubame Textiles interested in exploring a potential new market. Used to the relative warmth of Kugane’s coastal winters, Khagadai had been miserable about the trip from the beginning, finding any reason he could to run off from the caravan to hunt. While returning to the group after one of his forays, the xaela found his employer under attack by a dragon— wagons torn and burned, his fellow guards throwing themselves at the immense beast, Tsubame attempting to hide from the fray. Despite his efforts to help his fellows, Khagadai was grievously injured. When at last the group, led by Khagadai in a half-blinded rage, had forced the dragon to flee, the Oronir found his men in states worse than he, and Tsubame laying unconscious in the blood-drenched snow. Using what remained of his dwindling strength, he hauled Tsubame into Ishgard in search of medical aid. And while Tsubame was taken in, tended to until he tragically succumbed to his injuries, Khagadai was turned away— But could he be surprised? He resembled the very Kaiser Behemoth that was known to stalk Coerthas. Surprised? No. Angry, insulted? Yes. So he found himself in the Brume, licking his wounds as he would do on the Steppe until a distant cousin, a Chaghan far from home, Shiraghul, found him.Khagadai then spent the following moon under Shiraghul’s care. His wounds were tended, the pains of a missing eye soothed (somewhat), but his grief over Tsubame’s death ached too deeply for any of the older xaela’s words to reach. The brooding behemoth simply followed Shiraghul around the city, helping those in the Brume and provoking the Temple Knights, trying to find some beacon to follow out of his grief.Recognizing his temporary ward’s potential, Shiraghul pressed a long-gone Dark Knight’s soul crystal into Khagadai’s palm, vowing to help the Oronir channel his boundless pain and anger into a tool. Khagadai was resistant, seeing the way Shiraghul would lose himself to some unseen force when the hymn of battle rang, and kept what had been called his “Darkside” down, only drawing from his newfound well of power in sparse amounts. It wouldn’t do for the Son of Azim to lose himself to some dark ferality. But still he listened to Shiraghul, took their long talks to heart and learning what he could from their encounters with the Temple Knights as he accompanied Shiraghul on his crusade. With the sharp edge of mourning dulled enough to not overwhelm his every waking moment, Khagadai was reminded of his need for gil; he needed to return home and tell Yui, Tsubame’s daughter, and the rest of the company of the tragedy. He had a house to return to, and his heart yearned for a visit to the Azim Steppe. While taking on hunts around Coerthas, the Oronir met a xaela- a Dotharl. The two fought over the rights to a particular hunt mark before begrudgingly deciding to work together and split the bounty. A fortnight of exchanging blows at any provocation and a successful hunt completed, the two had somehow become…something akin to friends, bonding the way of warriors. And when their prize was split and it was time for the two to part ways, Khagadai found himself smiling for the first time in weeks, all the way back to Kugane.
Occasionally returns as work requires or to visit Shiraghul.
⸻ Recent Events

⸻ Weapons

⸻ Tengerleg
So called "Heavenly" for how this divine halberd has spread the righteous radiance of Azim across the Steppe. The spear once belonged to Khagadai's father, Khadagan, known throughout by many for its brutality through countless Naadams and tribal wars. It was gifted to Khagadai when he left the Azim Steppe, as a token of guidance and protection for Khadagan's son. Currently, it lives on display in Khagadai's home.

⸻ Shiitgel
The greatsword's weight always suited Khagadai more than the spears and axes popular with his people, a great bulk to match the towering mass behind it. This blade was commissioned not long before the fateful trip to Ishgard, where a baptism in blood of both mentor and dragon earned it the name of "Punishment".
⸻ Abilities

⸻ Dark Arts
A deep, profound fury dwells within Khagadai. Time in ishgard in the company of Shiraghul taught him to use his fiery wrath in combat to empower his blade and claws...though, he is still only just learning how to tap into the power offered to him, cautious not to echo his teacher's folly.

⸻ Healing
Khagadai learned meager healing magicks in the mountains of the Azim Steppe, thanks to a chance encounter with a Sharlayan astrologian. While he's capable of mending even shattered bones and grave injuries, it comes at a great physical cost and significant time compared to those specialized in the art. But it'll do in a pinch.
◆ || Hooks || ◆
These are not exhaustive! Kha is a very flexible character who can travel freely, so I'm totally up for plotting ideas!

◆ ◆ Son of the Steppe
Rarely is Khagadai able to visit the Azim Steppe, but he makes trips when he can, eager to meet any new faces he may see there. His Oronir and Olkund cousins, both strange and familiar, are especially exciting to him, but he (unsurprisingly) has little tolerance for Dotharl.

◆ ◆ Hunter for Hire
In addition to his duties with Tsubame Textiles, Khagadai often takes work hunting beasts and bounties, escorting scholars, etc. He is easy to find, and for the right price, easy to hire.

◆ ◆ The Weaver's Man
Khagadai works primarily as a bodyguard to a well-known weaver in Kugane. He himself has become a familiar face in Kogane-dori for his work with many of the artisans and shopkeeps...And his penchant for starting fights. Anyone with business in the city is likely to run into him.

◆ ◆ The Hulking Beast
Those from Ishgard might remember a scaled giant with a volatile disposition limping through the Brume for a single moon before disappearing into the snows of Coerthas. Seldomly does work beckons him back to the city that earned his ire, but Temple Knights often give him a wide berth when word of his return reaches their ears.

◆ ◆ Warrior Talk
Khagadai loves combat. Small talk has never been his forte, and he's terrible at talking his way out of trouble. Khagadai will always prefer to exchange blows and grapple his way to friendship or through conflict. Though really, sometimes he just wants a reason to show off his Azim-blessed strength.

◆ ◆ In the Stars
Perhaps you've noticed a distinctive sun-emblazoned tin on Khagadai's belt. Fortunes read in the stars are a hobby of his, and with the right prompting, or enough interest in someone he's speaking to, he'll gladly offer readings.

⸻ Trivia
Can read fortunes via cards, and takes his readings somewhat seriously, even when he disagrees with what the stars have to say. Generally superstitious when it comes to tarot and other methods of divining fate.
Great at cooking, favoring Hingan and Othardian dishes. Most food is very spicy.
To certαin people, he has a notably sweet scent; but otherwise smells of lemon verbena, black pepper, leather, and sandalwood.
Very prone to aethersickness, so he tries to avoid aetheryte travel when possible.
Often greets friends and fellow Xaela with a headbutt hard enough to draw blood. (This is your warning!)

Usually wakes up around sunrise, and is at his most productive first thing in the morning.
Often caught napping on Kugane rooftops by the
Sekiseigumi.
Between that and his frequent fights, they are not a fan of him.Tends to attract cats while working or napping outside, but easily scares them off once he moves.
Is very embarrassed about the meaning of his name.
A familiar face in both Ul'dah and Kugane for his frequent fights and otherwise loud presence. Many regulars in both cities seem exasperated with him as soon as they hear his booming voice.
Despite how modestly he often dresses, Khagadai relishes an excuse to bare skin under the sun. Though he takes pride in his appearance, bathing his skin under Azim's light is seen just as much as an act of devotion to the Dawn Father.
⸻ Family
If interacting amicably with Khagadai on the Steppe, he WILL try to introduce people to his family.
